The Patricia Hotel is a historic hotel fantastic for students, families and solo travelers alike. If you’re looking for a cheap, friendly and unique hotel experience in downtown Vancouver, then the Patricia Hotel is the perfect hotel for you. Here’s what makes the Patricia Hotel the best hotel choice for your upcoming visit to Vancouver:
Cheap hotel rates
The Patricia Hotel is one of the best Vancouver hotels for the budget minded traveler as we offer rates that won’t leave a hole in your pocket. Rather than having to spend most of your travel budget on accommodation, we believe your hard earned money should be spent on other aspects of your vacation, such as seeing the sights and sounds of Vancouver. Our rooms are a great alternative to hostels as all our all of our rooms come with a private bathroom, shower, cable and internet. And depending on how much space you’re looking for, we have several types of rooms available for you.
The budget and basic rooms are similar in size with the basic room (offering partial city skylines), starting at $50 a night. Our standard rooms (starting at $55 a night) come equipped with queen or twin size beds, a downtown or North Shore skyline plus a continental breakfast. If you’re looking for additional space, our Standard Plus Queen and King rooms will do the trick, offering full size bathrooms and either a full shower or bath for only $70 a night. For families requiring room on a budget, we have our Triple and Quad rooms, which include a double bed and twin bed or two queen size beds, respectively, along with a large bathroom featuring all the regular shower amenities (from $84 a night).
The Patricia Hotel is located in a central location in downtown Vancouver, only minutes away from the city’s many attractions. Chinatown is a mere block from our hotel while elegant Gastown with its dozens of delicious restaurants is only five blocks away. Take in Gastown’s cobblestone streets and 19th century architecture, and don’t forget to snap a picture of the famous antique steam clock, located between Cambie and Water street. The Patricia Hotel’s convenient location makes walking to Vancouver’s famous attractions a breeze, with the majority of the city’s sights being only a two kilometre walk away (Downtown Vancouver itself only spans around 3 kilometres!) Enjoy quick access to the Telus World of Science, the Vancouver Aquarium, the Vancouver Art Gallery, English Bay, Coal Harbour plus Stanley Park!
If you’d prefer dine without having to step outside of the hotel, the Patricia Hotel also has a great restaurant located right inside the hotel! Pat’s Pub offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, and also has its own signature lager, brewed on site. From our classic burgers and fries to our roasted mushroom ravioli, there’s something on the menu for everyone.
Last minute booking available
When you’re traveling, plans can change with a snap of a finger. The Patricia Hotel understands this, which is why we take both reservations and online bookings for when travel plans come together suddenly and you’re looking for last minute accommodation. Through our online booking service, you simply need to indicate your estimated hotel stay date and our rates and room availability will pop up for you. Additionally, we also have a lenient 24 hour cancellation policy should you need to change your check in dates. With this policy, guests will have until 2pm the day prior to check in to cancel their booking free of charge.
Historic look and feel
The Patricia Hotel is a heritage-style hotel that was established all the way back in 1913. The Pat’s Pub located inside the hotel is well known for being a jazz hotspot, hosting many notable jazz artists over the years. Some artists include Oscar Holden, Leo Bailey, Billy Hoy, Lillian Rose, Ralph Love, Arthur Daniels and Ferdinand “Jelly Roll” Morton, who actually lived in the hotel between 1919 and 1921. Walking into The Pat’s Pub is truly like taking a step back in time, thanks to its owners maintaining the bar’s original wood floor and exposed brick walls as well the baby grand piano! The Pat’s Pub still welcomes jazz musicians to this very day, hosting Jazz Night every Saturday and having a different feature performance every weekend.
